HammerTime — What's On Your Screen?
New to Assetto Corsa or HammerTime? This guide explains the extra menus and boxes you see while playing on our servers. Read each post below in order. Every post has a picture from the game and a simple explanation. Good to know before you start • You can click and drag the score box to move it • Right-click the score box and use your mouse wheel to make it bigger or smaller • Come to a full stop before buying anything from the Store • Link your Steam account in Discord if you want score roles and leaderboard credit
Part 1 — The Main Screen
This is what a normal HammerTime session looks like. Middle top — your score box • PTS = points you are earning right now on this run • SPEED, DRIFT, COMBO, PROX = bonus multipliers. Higher numbers mean more points • BOOST = extra bonus when you chain good driving together • Pink hearts = how many crashes you can take before this run ends (usually 3) Top left • PB = your personal best score ever on HammerTime • The number next to it (like #1) = your rank compared to everyone on all HammerTime servers • DRIVERS shows how many people are on this server (HERE) and on all HammerTime servers (ALL HT) Under your personal best • Store = shop where you spend tokens on boosts and extras • Tuning = change car setup (ride height, camber, etc.) without leaving the game • Drive challenge HUD (during a duel) = CHALLENGE countdown timer and your opponent's score sit directly under Store/Tuning Top right — Lap Timing Only matters on tracks that track lap times. Shows your current lap, last lap, best lap, and split times. • Reset Lap = start your lap timer over • Join Discord = opens our Discord in your browser Far right side • Servers = browse Public, Certified, Event, and Drift; pick an available car and transfer without leaving the game • Guides = scoring, tokens, lap ghosts, NOW ONLINE, fleet join, challenges • Leaderboard = Highscores, Laps, Tokens, and GHOSTS · BY TRACK (per-map ranks + your PB pace −/+) Bottom right • NOW ONLINE = who is driving, live run scores, JOIN/CARS car picker, SPEC (same server) / WATCH (join then spectate) Bottom left • HT TOKENS = money you earn from playing, used in the Store • Toggle Markings = show or hide lap markers on the track (on timed tracks) • Ghost ON / Ghost OFF = show or hide lap ghost arrows (your PB + rank-matched rival) for you only • CH
Part 2 — The Store
Click Store to open the shop. You must be fully stopped before you can buy anything. What are tokens? Tokens are earned by playing and scoring points over time. They are shared across every HammerTime server — earn on one server, spend on another. Before you buy Stop the car completely and wait a few seconds. When you are ready, the button will say you can activate the item. What you can buy (examples) • 2XP — earn double points for a few minutes • Extra Life — one extra crash before your run ends • Clean Run — bonus if you do not hit anything for a while • Insurance — get some tokens back if your run ends very quickly • NOS, Super Glue, Stopping Power, Light Weight — temporary car boosts Sometimes everything is 50% off during a sale. Staff turn sales on and off for the whole community.
Part 3 — Car Tuning
Click Tuning next to the Store to open CAR SETUP. This lets you adjust your car the same way you would in the pit menu — things like camber, toe, and suspension — while you are still in the server. TUNING OFF = look at your setup only (safe while driving) TUNING ON = you can move the sliders and change values (do this while stopped) Scroll down to see more options. Click Close Tuning when you are done.
Part 4 — Guides
Click Guides on the right side of the screen to open the help panel. This is an in-game FAQ. It explains: • How you earn tokens • How scoring works • LAP GHOSTS — PB path, rank-matched rival, TRUNC rules, MY PB pace −/+ • HT CREW CHIEF — radio callouts for gaps, stages, and pace (all SRP servers) • NOW ONLINE + FLEET JOIN — roster, car picker, SPEC/WATCH • HT SERVERS — switch maps from the Servers tab • DRIVE CHALLENGES — honk to challenge, accept, and duel for 5 minutes • Tips for getting more points • How perks and the Store fit together If you are unsure how something works, check Guides first before asking in chat. See Part 4b for full lap ghost rules and Part 4d for Crew Chief (SRP).
Part 4b — Lap Ghosts (PB + Rank Rival)
On every map with lap timing (including Shutoko / SRP), you can race ghost lines like offline practice — tuned for multiplayer. What ghosts are • Your PB ghost — saved when you beat your personal best; last-run stand-in until then • Rival matches your rank — e.g. rank 10 races rank 9 (place just above you) • Missing recording → next higher usable ghost stands in (\*); TRUNC ghosts are never rivals • No rank yet? Lowest ranked recorded ghost on that board first • P1 challenge: P2's path sped up to finish 1.0s under your PB (P2+); tightens each improve • Ghosts are per track and shared across all HT servers that run that map What you see • World direction arrow + driver name (not a full 3D car — CSP online limits) • Own PB = cyan; rival = gold (HUD: VS P# / VS P2+) GHOSTS · BY TRACK + MY PB pace • Leaderboard tab → GHOSTS · BY TRACK: roster separated by map with #1…N per track • Footer − / +: change your PB ghost pace by 1 second (harder = faster PB ghost) • Rival pace is not changed by these buttons (server P1−1s boost still applies if you are P1) • Preference is remembered between sessions How to use them 1. Drive a clean timed lap (start → checkpoints → finish) 2. Improve your lap PB → your ghost updates; P1 rivals retarget to PB − 1s 3. Optional: open GHOSTS · BY TRACK and tune MY PB −/+ if you want a harder/easier PB chase 4. Follow the arrows to compare lines and climb the board Ghost ON / OFF • Bottom-left, under Toggle Markings: Ghost ON / Ghost OFF • Hides world ghosts for you only — recording still runs so PBs can still save SRP note • Road coins are retired — earn tokens from score + Store • Ghosts are live on SRP (same system as every other lap map) • Crew Chief radio is also live on all SRP servers — see Part 4d In-game Guides → LAP GHOSTS, HT CREW CHIEF, and
Part 4d — HT Crew Chief (SRP radio)
HT Crew Chief is live on every Shutoko (SRP) server — a radio coach for ghost gaps, stage times, and pace. How to turn it on • Bottom-left stack (next to Toggle Markings / Ghost / Portal): CHIEF ON / CHIEF OFF • Leave CHIEF ON while you run timed stages or full routes • A small radio card flashes on screen when a callout fires What it calls out • Ghost gaps vs your PB and rank-matched rival (catching / falling / delta) • Stage complete times and vs-PB notes • Full-route / lap finish times • Pace tips when your gap trend changes Audio notes • Uses short sound-pack clips (Crew Chief style) with TTS fallback • CHIEF OFF stops callouts entirely — toggle back on anytime • Needs a normal CSP session; rejoin after server updates if audio is silent • Callouts are rate-limited so the radio does not talk over itself every second • Best with Ghost ON so spoken gaps match what you see on track In-game Guides → HT CREW CHIEF (RADIO) has the same walkthrough. Content Manager server descriptions on SRP also mention CHIEF ON/OFF.
Part 4c — Drive Challenges
Challenge another driver to a 5-minute score duel. Live on HammerTime servers with challenges enabled. How to start • Honk your horn 3 times within 4 seconds • Chat announces: [Name] issued a drive challenge! Honk 3 times to accept. • Honk 3× again before anyone accepts to cancel your challenge How to accept • Be the first other driver on the server to honk 3 times • You have 5 minutes to accept before the challenge expires What you see on screen 1. 3-2-1 countdown — large gold numbers in the center of your screen (both players) 2. Active duel — under Store and Tuning: • CHALLENGE MM:SS = time left in the match • Opponent name + score in red = their live score (mirrors the main score HUD 1:1) Scoring rules • Challenge score mirrors actual points — same number as the score box • Crash / run wipe zeros the challenge number the same way as a normal run • Highest live score when the timer hits 0:00 wins • Ties are announced in chat Leaving / disconnects • If your opponent leaves mid-match, you win by forfeit • If you leave, the challenge ends for everyone The in-game Guides tab has the same rules under DRIVE CHALLENGES.
Part 5 — Leaderboard
Click Leaderboard on the right side to see how you stack up against other players. You can switch between three lists using the button at the top: HIGHSCORES — who has the most points ever LAPS — fastest lap times (on tracks that support it) TOKENS — who has earned, saved, and spent the most tokens Press REFRESH to update the list. Your name shows in gold when you are on the list.
Part 6 — Teleporting & Car Color (CSP Chat)
HammerTime servers use CSP's built-in Extras menu for teleporting and changing your car color. No chat commands needed. You need CSP installed (see the setup guide below). Keep the CSP Chat app open while driving. How to teleport 1. Open the CSP Chat app in-game (phone icon on the side of the screen) 2. Tap the lightbulb / Extras button at the top of the chat window 3. Tap Teleport to... 4. Pick a location from the list (larger maps group points by area) 5. Your car jumps there — try to be stopped first Change car color (same menu) Open Extras → Change car color → use the color picker. Works best when you are stopped. Which servers have teleport? Most HammerTime maps have named points: SRP, PCH, LA Canyons, Nord, Union Island, Horizon, Targa Florio, and more. Hamburg, Drift, and Akina use general route waypoints. Note: Teleporting can reset lap times on timed tracks — that is normal CSP behavior. Don't see Teleport in Extras? • Leave the server and rejoin after a server restart (config only loads at server start) • You need a recent CSP build in Content Manager (Settings → Custom Shaders Patch → update) • Teleport appears on the same Extras menu as Change car color — if you see color but not teleport, try rejoining after restart • Make sure you are fully in the server (not still loading)
Quick Tips
How do I score points? Drive fast, drift when you can, pass traffic safely, and try not to crash. Crashes cost hearts — run out of hearts and the run ends. What is a personal best (PB)? Your highest score ever. Stop the car fully at the end of a good run so it saves. What are tokens? Play over time, earn tokens, spend them in the Store on boosts. How do lap ghosts work? Beat a lap PB to save your ghost (last-run stand-in until then). Rival = place above you; P1 races P2 sped to PB − 1s. TRUNC ghosts are never rivals. Leaderboard → GHOSTS · BY TRACK: −/+ adjusts your PB only. Ghost ON/OFF under Toggle Markings (Part 4b). What is Crew Chief? SRP radio callouts for ghost gaps, stage times, finishes, and pace. Bottom-left CHIEF ON/OFF on every SRP server. See Part 4d. SRP coins? Retired. Tokens come from score + Store. Use lap ghosts + Crew Chief on Shutoko instead (Parts 4b / 4d). What is NOW ONLINE? Bottom-right roster with live scores. JOIN/CARS opens a car picker; SPEC same server; WATCH joins then spectates. Discord has a join panel too. Is chat shared? Yes. Chat on any HammerTime server goes to players on other HammerTime servers too. How do I teleport? CSP Chat → lightbulb (Extras) → Teleport to... (see Part 6 above for full steps). How do drive challenges work? Honk 3× to issue, another player honks 3× to accept, then race for 5 minutes. Scores mirror live points. See Part 4c. Open a ticket here
